The History: A couple of years ago, I started journaling my prayers and God's responses to them. I told my friends about this, they were really interested. I told my Pastor about it and he said, how about sharing those on line. When I asked God, He said, my words are for you, but not just for you. And, here we are...I hope He speaks to you in these words.

Thought control...

My prayer:

Mighty God, loving Father. I think I am realizing, more than ever, that the majority of challenges in life are truly a battle of the mind. If I can think "right" about a situation, any situation, and see it how you see it, I can be content and not afraid.

It seems almost too simple when I say it but the reality of living it is hard enough. I pray God that you help me to get my thoughts right, in every situation. I pray for wisdom and right thinking. In Jesus name. Thank you.

What God Said Tonight:

I am sorry my daughter but your thoughts are your own responsibility. I gave you free will and in that is your control over your own thoughts. I can teach you how to control your thoughts. I can show you how confessing my word will renew your mind. I can show you the tools to keep your mind like mine; but the work, actually living out the right thought life is something only you can do.

I cannot and will not ever control your thoughts. Those are yours and only yours. Keep your thoughts focused and stayed on me and you find the control you seek. It is all up to you.

  1. control comes from letting go. Instead of trying to control your thoughts... accept what ever comes and let it go.. by doing this you are caring for each thought that arises and offering each thought kindness... through this you can train your thoughts to the All Mighty.

  3. I read this when it was posted initially, and in reading it again I still have the same questions and the same sense of indignation.
To paraphrase: "Oh sorry, that's sort-of your problem." Because of free will? Some people's wills have been so chronically violated and compromised that they can't even recognize them anymore. Whose thought processes are arrested and lives were subverted by trauma and factors outside themselves. So, people who've acquired psychological disorders from abuse, brainwashing, etc, are left to bring themselves back from the grip of an insanity that was basically forced on them? Satan and the people in his employ can program minds but God won't deprogram them? Rather than just getting to live their lives as intended they have to spend their years of living death tasked with suffering through fixing something someone else broke just to accomplish nothing more than getting back to ground zero, paying in innumerable ways for the crimes committed against them, without help from God that's at least equal to the effort invested by the enemy?
    That's just outrageous.

  4. Found something of an answer on the same topic in another post:

But it still sounds like the worst cosmic short end of the stick ever imo.
