The History: A couple of years ago, I started journaling my prayers and God's responses to them. I told my friends about this, they were really interested. I told my Pastor about it and he said, how about sharing those on line. When I asked God, He said, my words are for you, but not just for you. And, here we are...I hope He speaks to you in these words.

Orchids and weeds...

My prayer:

Today was not easy but I did feel your peace throughout it all. I pray for your continued guidance and favor God. This world can be a tough place to live. I am grateful I don't have to live here without you.

What God Said Tonight:

A weed can grow anywhere, even in places you don't want it. An orchid needs very specific conditions to grow and to thrive. Which is more valuable?

It depends on what you need. If you need just the beauty than the orchid is valuable and rare. If you need something that will thrive with little to no attention, than the weed is your best bet.

I love orchids but I love weeds too. Everything has a place and a purpose in the Kingdom of God.

No need to worry...

My prayer:

Mighty and amazing God, thank you for today.

One more day and it is back to work. I am trying to focus on being present in this moment and not losing out on the joy and beauty you have provided by thinking about the future. I am trying, but I am not being very successful.

I love you Father.

What God Said Tonight:

You do not know what tomorrow brings. You may think you do. You may think that you can predict what is going to happen next but you can't. If this year has taught you anything, it should be that you cannot predict what comes next.

I love you and while I can't always let you know what is coming, I can always promise you that I will be with you in it. I will provide for you in it. I will help you in it.

I love you sweet daughter and you need not worry for tomorrow because whatever it brings, I am in it with you.

A great burden...

My prayer:

Awesome God. You are teaching me so much right now. Thank you for the wisdom. Thank you for the discernment. I can't wait to see how you use it all.

What God Said Tonight:

A great weight is on the world right now. A great burden, but it is not the one you think it is.

A physical illness, no matter how bad, is still just a physical illness. The worst it can do is end this life. When you are my child and redeemed through my blood, death has no sting.

A greater burden is on the world. It is a burden of substance, a burden of Spirit. It is pressing down and many are feeling crushed by it. I have surrounded my people in this time of crushing. I have you in bubbles of protection.

Do not be fooled into thinking, because you are protected, because you are not feeling the pressure, that it is not happening. It is but you have special provision as a child of mine and a citizen of my Kingdom.

I love you sweet child.

Diamond...

My prayer:

Another amazing day God. I am so blessed by you. Now, my life has not been perfect, that we all know, but you are blessing me like crazy right now and I can't help but get excited and thank you for it! Thank you for everything today God. It was awesome, all of it.

What God Said Tonight:

A diamond does not look so beautiful in its original and natural state. Someone has to come along, cut, polish, and shape it. When done correctly, the beauty of that diamond shines through like nothing else.

But it is beauty you have to find, you have to work for it. It doesn't just make itself known.

Your life is like that too. There has always been great beauty within your life but it has taken years of shaping, and cutting, and polishing to let that beauty shine.

I love you. shine on.

More for you...

My prayer:

Sweet Father. I never knew. I never knew that you had this life in mind for me. I never knew I would love it so much. I didn't know this was possible. I really thought my life was over but instead, it was just beginning. It sounds trite, but it is true.

Thank you for knowing me better than I know myself. Thank you for turning everything for my good. Thank you for being my God.

What God Said Tonight:

I have more for you. I will always have more for you.

We have an eternity together. Your life, your seasons never end. You have everlasting life in me and with that comes a continual renewal. A continual fresh start.

This life, this season is a good one. The next is even better. I love you.

Right time...

My prayer:

Thank you Father for providing everything and doing it in such perfect but unexpected ways. You are amazing and I am so grateful I get to live life with you.

What God Said Tonight:

Every good thing is only truly good when it comes at the right time. A flower out of season will die.

I have brought you good things but I have brought them at the right time. When I ask you to wait, it is not because I don't want to bless you. I am not punishing you. It is always because I know that there is a timing and a season to everything.

Trusting my timing is  a hard thing to learn but if you can, you will experience great joy and blessings for the rest of your life, the rest of your existence. I love you and I will see you blessed in the right time.

Rest season...

My prayer:

Thank you God for this time off from work. I pray in these next several days that you help me remember what is important and what isn't. I pray for rest, recreation, and rejuvenation. More than anything, I pray that we do it all together. Everything is better with you in the middle of it.

What God Said Tonight:

Rest is important. Time to refill and refuel is needed. I created you in that way, times for work, times for play, and times for rest.

Your life is about seasons. Sometimes a season lasts for months or years and other times a season may last a day or a week. Even other times, a season may last an hour.

In this season, find your rest, find your center, and let the world and its troubles be on my shoulders. Trust me with every worry and every concern. Take this time and enjoy. I love you and I want to see you in joy.
