The History: A couple of years ago, I started journaling my prayers and God's responses to them. I told my friends about this, they were really interested. I told my Pastor about it and he said, how about sharing those on line. When I asked God, He said, my words are for you, but not just for you. And, here we are...I hope He speaks to you in these words.

Moldable...

My prayer:

I am living each day and each moment, trusting you. In this unprecedented time of crisis, I KNOW, I don't just think, I don't just hope, I KNOW, you are with me and you will take care of me.

Thank you God for this assurance. Thank you for everything you allowed in my life to prepare me for this time. I hated it at the time but now, now I begin to understand your purpose.

I am yours and you are mine, now and forever my God.

What God Said Tonight:

Water turned to ice and back again. There are times in your life where you will need the strength of ice and there are times in your life when you will need the flexibility of water.

I am your God and I will form you into what you need for each season and each circumstance. I am the potter, you are the clay. As you allow me to mold you, you will find that you are the perfect shape and the perfect strength for what is needed at this time and for tomorrow.

I love you. Stay moldable.

Living and active Word...

My prayer:

A very peaceful and restful day today God. Thank you.

Only you can give peace is the middle of chaos. Only you can give peace when the world is going crazy. It really is not something that can be logically explained but it can be experienced.

I will never have enough thanks, enough praise for all that you do for me.

What God Said Tonight:

It is written. I have told you the story so many times. It is now the realization of that story.

My word is living and active, all of it. My promises and my predictions.

I love you. I have you, I will always protect you.

My necessity...

My prayer:

I had a glimpse today God of the dramatic difference between living in these times with an assurance of you and without. I tend to take for granted sometimes, the peace that comes from living in relationship with you. It is possibly the largest blessing outside of salvation itself.

Today, I was reminded of the terror that this pandemic can create for those who don't know you and don't know that you will take care of them. It is heartbreaking God.

Tonight I pray for every person who does not yet know you. I pray that this be a wake up call and that this thing that was meant to destroy them becomes the thing that turns them toward you and saves them.

What God Said Tonight:

A necessity, a need is something you cannot live without.

I am your necessity. I am your need.

Everything else I will bring to you but the one thing you cannot be without is me. I have promised you I will never leave you or forsake you and I mean that promise. A time will come where it is the only promise that will matter.

I love you, I will care for you, I will keep you. I am yours and you are mine, now and forever my child.

Peace in chaos...

My prayer:

Awesome God, I do NOT want to talk about the pandemic. I do NOT want to talk about the fear running rampant. I am sick of it and I do NOT want to talk about it...but even in working so hard to NOT talk about it, it proves it is forefront in my mind.

I truly believe this last season of building trust was in total preparation for this season. And, I do trust you. I trust that you know what is going on and you will take care of us. I trust you to guide my steps. All I have to do is look around me and the sanctuary you have placed me in for this season and I can know that you are and will take care of us.

Without the last season of building trust, I think I would be a basket case with constant worry. But here we are, this is our reality right now, and whether the threat of the virus is real or blown out of proportion, the results are real.

I pray God, for wisdom for our leadership, peace for your people, and your divine health to reign.

What God Said Tonight:

A gate is an opening in a structure that is meant to keep things in or keep things out. A gate makes it possible for you to travel in and out of a place that others are confined in or excluded from.

I have prepared in you a peace that will allow you to travel in and out of the circumstance, finding compassion without judgement and kindness without fear. I have equipped you with the key to surviving any calamity.

You are my child and I will see you walk in freedom all of our days. You will show the world what it is to have privilege and freedom from the most high God. I have a plan, even in this, and I am working it out.

The life of a rock...

My prayer:

Amazing Father. I place every worry and every concern in your hands tonight. I trust you to work out every detail, big and small.

I pour out my gratitude for all that you have done and the blessings you have covered me with.

I trust you with it all.

What God Said Tonight:

Every rock and every pebble has a place in the sand that makes up the world. No matter how big or how small the rock, it has a place and a purpose. That place and purpose change over time.

It may start as a mountain and then become a boulder that rolls down the hill. I may further break into rocks and stones that roll even further. Some may get caught in a stream where they are rolled smooth and become smaller and smaller until one day they find themselves on the beach, among the sand. They may stay on the beach, they may get caught up in the surf but one day, they will end up as sand.

The life of a rock is a long one but it is one filled with adventure and change over time. I see your life this way. Your shape and purpose, even your location is changing over time but it is always part of the adventure. It is always part of my purpose.

This season, love, trust, know that I am God and know that this is not forever.

Not tonight...

My prayer:

Awesome God. I do not have anything interesting to talk about tonight but I would love to hear your words.

What God Said Tonight:

It is not time tonight. I am with you. I love you. I will never leave you  but tonight is not the night to talk about anything more. Go, rest, and trust that I am God and your life is safely in my hands.

Fear...

My prayer:

Awesome God, fear is ruling our world right now and it is hard to argue with it. This world is a pretty scary place. Viruses killing people, people killing people, so much coming at us every second.

There is only one place to turn and that is to you. There is only one who is bigger than any threat and bigger than any fear and that is you.

Amazing Father, I put myself in your hands. I pray your will is done. I pray your protection around me, my family, my friends, my pets, my home, and this world. Guide us through this time with your infinite wisdom.

What God Said Tonight:

A fear is not a thing of substance. It is why fears can be so hard to fight. They are made of the air. They are made of thoughts. They are not real. They are only what we think about things that we think are real.

Fear has no place in my children. I am your assurance. I am your way maker.

A fear is a weapon meant to harm you. A fear will try to make you do things and say things that bring harm to you. The fear itself, cannot harm you. The fear itself has no power. It is like a wispy cloud in the wind. One small breeze and it is blown away as if it never existed.

I will blow away your fears. I will take care of you, now and forever. I will not let the weapons formed against you prosper. My promises to you are final and assured. I love you.
