This beautiful, complicated life...

My prayer:

I am kind of down tonight God with no good reason. I pray for your peace and joy to come over me tonight. Thank you for being so wonderful.

What God Said Tonight:

Life is more beautiful and more complicated than you may ever be able to understand. I can show you glimpses but to to see the whole picture would be overwhelming for you.

I have the full picture. I can see how the things that you think are so insignificant actually have great purpose. I can see how the thing that disappointed you had a greater purpose than you can imagine.

I promise, I will never disappoint you without a greater purpose. If I could, I would literally give you every thing you could ever want. I would shower you with blessings until you could not take any more. But, there are, right now, some circumstances, situations, needs, in both the physical and the spiritual world that sometimes mean that things don't turn out like you want them to.

Trust me that they are turning out the way they need to be and that I will bless you in the end.

God's love...

My prayer:

God I pray and ask for a greater level of your love in our lives. I pray for so much of your love in our lives that we stop hurting and being hurt by each other.

Your love heals. Your love strengthens. Your love makes us more than we were before. Thank you Jesus.

What God Said Tonight:

My love goes wherever it is welcome. I will flood you with love if you will let me. You are the apple of my eye. You are my created child.

I made you to love. My love was born inside of you and grows every time you let it. My love is not boastful and my love will not go where it is not welcome. But where you welcome me, I will come in like a rushing river with more love than you can take.

You are my precious child and my love is all yours.

Many roads to blessing...

My prayer:

Today was one of those days where nothing went according to plan but everything turned out well.

You do that for me a lot. You take a mishmash of things that are not working and make them into something that does work. I am barreling down a track that is going no where when you nudge me to the right and suddenly I am right where I need to be.

Thank you for your blessing, your guidance, and your love God. I would not want to live this life without them.

What God Said Tonight:

There are a lot of ways that I can ensure the best for you. I have created many roads to your blessing. I have benefits for you that I have not even deployed yet but will take you to new heights to soar.

I will take you with me.

Soaring...

My prayer:

Awesome God. I worship you. I lay down every worry, every thought and every desire while I stand in awe of you and all that you are. Or, all that I am aware of that you are.

That is the amazing and wonderful thing about you God. As much as I know you, as close as we get, there is always more with you.

You are beyond limits, beyond boundaries, beyond my imagination. THAT is exciting and wonderful. Knowing that I will spend the rest of eternity with you and that you will always have more to teach me, more to share with me, more to show me, is truly wonderful. I LOVE YOU!

What God Said Tonight:

My Spirit rides the wind and sings in joy. I have you in my arms and together we will soar.

We will soar because I have destined you for greatness. We will soar because you were created for great things. We will soar because I have made you a royal priesthood. But we will also soar for the pure joy of it. We will soar to feel the wind in our hair. We will celebrate every victory and we support each other in every defeat.

I love you. Come soar with me.

The cure for jealousy...

My prayer:

Awesome God. Jealousy is such a destructive force. I don't normally have trouble with jealousy but once in awhile it comes up and when it does, it is so relentless. Even at the moment of feeling the jealousy I know that there is not good purpose for it. I know, even then, that it will do nothing but cause me misery. And yet, when it grabs a hold of me, it is really hard to get free.

God, I pray for a generous heart that automatically feels joy for the blessings on people around me. Help me to see and be satisfied with the blessings in my own life. God, disintegrate jealousy in my life.

What God Said Tonight:

Jealousy is nothing more than coveting what is not yours. It is the epitome of pride to want to be better and more blessed than the people around you. It is a remnant of the pride of man in you that needs to be burned and cauterized out of you. It does you no good. It does the people around you no good. Hold still while I remove this cancer from you.

Receive the ultimate worthiness that I have placed in you.  You never have to compare yourself to others because I have made you perfect in Christ. The God of all creation loves you. Those are good credentials.

Rescue and refuge...

My prayer:

Today was weird. So many things that went wrong and yet, even in the midst of things going wrong, I could see your hand protecting me from worse things. It was kind of like a tornado of bad things came at me and you pulled me to the side so I only had to deal with some wind.

Thank you for the wind God and keeping me out of the tornado. I love you.

What God Said Tonight:

It is another weather analogy and it is true. I have yet to see the storm that can take my children out; but, that does not mean that they don't get wet. It rains on the righteous and unrighteous together.

My protection, my hope for you is that I will always provide a way out. I am your rescue and your refuge. My banner covers your head and my mantle covers your back. I love you.

Strong foundation...

My prayer:

I really enjoyed today God. Thank you for the beauty, the fun, the relaxation, and for spending it with me.

Back to work tomorrow and I am betting, another great opportunity for me to find peace in you while the world around me is crazy. Help me to see life and circumstances through your eyes. Help me to see the bigger picture and purpose. And, most of all, help me to love like you love.

What God Said Tonight:

I have built your life on a sound structural base. It is because of that sound structure that you can face the winds of change, you can handle an occasional earthquake shaking.

Your foundation in me stays strong and keeps you from falling over. When the winds blow and the earth shakes, grab hold of your foundation and you will not be brought down.
