Slow down...

My prayer:

Today was a bit of a puzzle God. Normally I love puzzles but that is because I can normally figure them out. There are a lot of things from today that I could not figure out. I ask for wisdom and guidance God. Help me to see what I am not seeing.

Thank you Jesus!

What God Said Tonight:

Sometimes you can't see what is in front of you because you are moving too fast. Take a minute, slow down, and see what you have been missing. 

There are clear answers right in front of you but you won't see them if you are rushing by.

One at a time...

My prayer:

Today was rough God. Thanks for getting me through it. All I want to do now is hear your voice and then go to sleep. I love you.

What God Said Tonight:

A section at a time. That is how you make it through the tough times in this world. Take one section, one day, one minute, one second and deal with the one thing, until it is done. Then, and only then, do you move onto the next thing. 

Most people get caught up in the next thing. Don't worry about the next thing. I will bring you everything you need when you need it. 

Right now, focus on what is right in front of you. 

Purpose...

My prayer:

Thank you God for answered prayer. You are wonderful!

What God Said Tonight:

I am the flower in your garden, the tree in your field. I make the reason for existence. 

In me and through me, all men can find their purpose. I have millions and millions of projects that I am ready to support. I just need a few wiling sons and daughters.

Knowing tomorrow they will be gone again.

One view...

My prayer:

I pray that your will be done God. In every situation, every life, every moment, I pray your will is done.

What God Said Tonight:

The landscape looks much different from above than it does at ground level. 

Always remember that all you can see of a situation is not all that the situation is. From a higher level, the situation may look much more manageable and the purpose clear. 

Rivers, from above, show a clear progression from beginning to end. Rivers, while you are in them, can be tumultuous and wind around so much that you think you are not making any progress at all. It is the same river, just different perspectives. 

No matter what you are looking at, remember to allow for the possibility that what you see is only one view. I love you.

Walk the path...

My prayer:

Ok, I have started three times now and nothing seems right to talk about. I bet this is a night for listening, not talking. I love you God!

What God Said Tonight:

Walking on the path of righteousness is not without its barriers and pitfalls. I ask you walk but I don't expect you to walk alone and I don't expect you to walk without stumbling. It is a tough path and no one can actually walk it without my covering. 

I came and died for you so that you would be covered and you could walk where I made you to walk. Your path, your righteousness, can only be achieved with  my blood covering you. But with my covering, you can walk without worry. You can know that no matter if you stumble or fall, I will always keep you on the path. I will always keep you covered. 

You are mine and I love you so. Keep covered in me and walk this path with me.

God's candle...

My prayer:

Today was rough but you got me through it. And, what an amazing opportunity you dropped in my lap in the middle of it all! I can't wait to go to Africa! Life with you is an adventure God. THANK YOU!

What God Said Tonight:

I have wonderful things to show in in the corners of the world you have not been. But I have children there who need me. They need you too. 

Love my children as I have loved you. Take everything you have learned from how I love and reflect that love out. Let them see my Spirit in you. Let them see my love shine through you. 

You are my candle that will not be put out. You are my lamp in a dark world. Light the way to me.

Hard to bless...

My prayer:

Such a bitterly cold day today. As always on days like today, my thoughts are with all of the people without homes. Please take care of them God. Find them a warm spot for the night at least. Lead them to somewhere safe and warm. Bless them like crazy please God.

What God Said Tonight:

It's not hard to help a man with no roof. That man is grateful for whatever you can give him. It is so much harder to bless a rich man. It is why I said it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to be saved. 

It is in their very wealth that blocks them from eternal riches. I am not saying that it can't happen. All things are possible through Christ. But, it is hard. 

Who is better off, the homeless man whose heart and soul are open to me or the rich man that needs a reminder to talk to me. 

I will care for the poor. Those who do not have homes and those who are poor in spirit..
