God is in control...

My prayer:

I was running late almost all day and you know how I hate that God. It doesn't happen often but there were just a lot of things outside of my control. 

I tried to keep my cool and rely on you and did ok for part of the day but lost it a couple of times. I guess I should be glad that I did better than I use to do. 

Thank you for bringing me peace every time I asked for it today God. Thank you for working everything out in the end and Thank YOU for being my God!

What God Said Tonight:

Remember when things are outside of your control, they are not outside of my control. I am the God of everything and I have dominion over heaven and earth. When you trust me and when you understand how much I love you, you will not worry when life seems chaotic  You will trust me and find your peace. 

I love you too much to let you down. Things will definitely not always go the way you think they should but they will always go in a way that is best in the end. I have a plan and my plan is acting itself out in every aspect of your life. There is no moment of your life that goes unnoticed by me. I am always with you and I never let my guard down. 

I am vigilant over your life and I will see you succeed. I love you now and forever. Go get some rest.

God's character...

My prayer:

You brought me an opportunity today God to be a blessing and I almost missed it. I almost let worldly thinking get in the way and keep me from being the blessing that I could be. 

THANK YOU for convicting my spirit, slapping me upside the head in time for me to make it right. And then, once I acted on it, thank you for the double confirmation that it was the right thing to do. Sometimes the smart thing to do is not the right thing to do and sometimes it is not the God thing to do. 

I pray God that you always help me to make the decisions that are in your will. Please give me the wisdom to know which choices those are and feel free to slap me again if I miss it!

What God Said Tonight:

Did you have a good time tonight? Yea, that comes from having a light spirit and knowing you have touched my heart and done something that is in right standing with my character. 

That is how you can always know the right choice. Consider my character, and then imagine what my character would say or do in the situation. 

Character is so important. It defines who you are and what you do. You might be able to fool people for awhile by putting on a mask but your character will shine through eventually. The same is true of my character. If you spend time with me, my character becomes so crystal clear and with that knowledge, comes an ease in making decisions for your life. 

You know my will because you know my character. If you don't feel like you know my character well enough to determine my will in any given situation. spend time with me, spend time in the Word of God and learn more about me. It is worth the investment, I promise.

God's joy...

My prayer:

Today was pretty great God. I got to do some of my favorite things, I got spend time with some of my favorite people, I got to meet some new people (which is another favorite thing of mine), and I got great and surprising news (which is one of my most favorite things!). 

Thank you for giving me so much of my favorite stuff today!

I don't really have any deep thoughts to talk about tonight. I am simply at peace and happy. That is pretty wonderful right there.

What God Said Tonight:

Who better to give you gifts than the one who created you. I know the gifts you will love because I put your desire for them in your heart. 

You love people because I first loved you. You love surprises because you delight in my plans for you. I made you and I will always know the best ways to bless you. 

I hope you see that I get joy out of your joy. You know how you feel when you give someone the perfect gift and they are overjoyed? That is the same feeling I get when I give to you. 

I love you my daughter and it is my joy to see you shine. 

Tragedy...

My prayer:

Awesome God. I am left speechless in the shadow of the tragedy of the tornadoes in Oklahoma. There are no words that can bring any comfort. 

All I know to do is to pray and ask you to take care of the people. Help each of them to somehow walk through the next days, weeks, months and years. I pray God for a double portion redemption for them God. I pray that you find a way to turn it all around for their good. I can't imagine how that could be but you are smarter and more creative than I am so I trust you have a way for them. 

What God Said Tonight:

I am your healer, your redeemer and even now, I am bringing lights of hope into Oklahoma. I am here and will comfort all those who come to me. 

It is in the face of unimaginable tragedy that I can show most dramatically how a life with me in it is different and better. It is in tragedy that I can show you my love. Don't embrace the tragedy but embrace me in the tragedy and I will bring you through. 

I love you all, all of my children so much. I love those who don't know me yet most of all and I will show you my love if you let me. I am your hope. I am your future. I am your redemption.

God's motivations...

My prayer:

God of all creation. You are everything I need. You fulfill and complete me. You teach me a perfect me. You forgive me and give me mercy. You do it all because you love me. Not because I am loveable but because you are love. 

That really takes the pressure off. When I truly realize or remember that your love for me, your favor on my life has very little to do with me and has everything to do with who you are. And, when I remember that you do not change, I can always count on you to be you. There is GREAT PEACE in that God.

You are you and you will always love me because of who you are. 

What God Said Tonight:

You got it right my daughter. I love you because of who I am. 

I like you because of who you are. I like you because you have a heart for me and care about the things I care about. 

I help you because I am the God of help but also because you are my child and I will always help you. 

I challenge you because I want you to grow and be your best. Not because it is important to me for you to be your best but because I know it is important to you.

You are good enough...

My prayer:

Today was all about your healing power God! Thanks for healing me, thanks for healing the people I prayed for, thanks for being a healing God! Getting to see the one guys reaction to you healing his back, he was SO EXCITED and AMAZED. It was a great reminder of what a miracle your healing is. Getting to see you heal people all the time, I sometimes forget how amazing it really is. You are wonderful God. 

I am so desperately trying to live out the life and the plan you have for me and I so often fall short of what I think I should be doing for you. I think Pastor M said it best this weekend. There comes a time where you just have to look in the mirror and say, "Here I am God." No self judgement, no comparing myself to other people, no listening to other people's judgments of me but just, here I am God. Use what you can, change what you need to but this is what you have to work with. I am sorry it is not more.

What God Said Tonight:

You are fearfully and wonderfully made and made in my image. 

You are good enough. 

You are covered in my blood sacrifice for you. 

You are good enough. 

You are my precious and favored child. 

You are GOOD enough. 

Not random...

My prayer:

Whoooosh! What a day! All good though God!! It sure seems like you are lining things up for something special. All kinds of things that have been separate, seem to be coming together in a way that could be SO EXCITING!!

God the message tonight was so right on. Please, show me what needs to change in me. Help me not to judge or to let myself be ruled by the judgement of others. Help me God to listen to what you think about me at all times and let that rule and direct my life and actions. 

I love you God and I am all yours, now and forever.

What God Said Tonight:

I have been putting it all together for awhile now but I am glad you are starting to notice. Your life has meaning and purpose. 

The random things, the random decisions in your life are not random. I work ALL things to the good of those who love me and are called according to my purpose. That means all things. That means the things that are in my will and the things that are not in my will. I work all things together. I have such dominion over this earth that I can use anything and everything to bless you and see that you succeed. 

Don't get scared. Fear has kept you from too many great promises in this life. Trust me to work everything together. Trust me to work your best and your worst together for your good. I can make silk out of a sow's ear as they say. I made wine out of water. I can and will use it all for your good.
