The History: A couple of years ago, I started journaling my prayers and God's responses to them. I told my friends about this, they were really interested. I told my Pastor about it and he said, how about sharing those on line. When I asked God, He said, my words are for you, but not just for you. And, here we are...I hope He speaks to you in these words.

What I need...

My prayer:

I don't know how to express what I need tonight or how to ask for it. I pray God that you hear my heart.

What God Said Tonight:

What you need is already in you. I am in you. I am everything you need.

Stop trying so hard and just let it rest. Let me show up. Trust that I will take care of it and of you.

I have gifted you with many thing and many talents. However, some situations cannot be resolved with your strength and your talents. Some things need my direct intervention.

Leave this in my hands.

Present blessings...

My prayer:

Today was just a nice day of peace and rest. Thank you for your peace and rest God.

There are so many unanswered questions in life right now God. It leaves me feeling on edge most of the time but there are these moments, when I recognize that you are in charge and I just need to trust, those are the moments of peace. Those are the good times.

I love you God. I trust you. I am grateful for you.

What God Said Tonight:

The universe is bigger than you can imagine and I am God of the universe. I know everything and I am all powerful.

I remind you of these things to help you remember that there is nothing in your life that is too big, too much for me to handle. I will bring you through always and if you can live in that trust of me, your life, your experience of your life will be so much more peaceful and so much more joyful.

Don't miss out on the present blessings while waiting on the promise of tomorrow. I have it under control. You enjoy this day, I have made it for you. I love you my child.

Loving God's way...

My prayer:

Thank you God for this quiet time of worship and prayer tonight. You always help me see things from a new viewpoint. When I focus on what I don't have, you focus on all that I have. When I see the missed opportunities you see the preparation for the future you have planned.

I love you Father and I would not want to live this life without you.

What God Said Tonight:

I am your light in darkness and your healing in sickness. I am your waymaker and I am your guide. I am your teacher and your Father. I am your brother and your friend. I am your heart and your purpose.

I created you with love and the hope that you would choose to love me too. Your love is such a great joy to me. Not only because of what it means to me but more so, what it means to you. Loving with complete abandonment, loving with the love I put in you, will bring you more joy, more healing, more purpose, and more meaning than anything else.

I love you my child. Let my love grow in you and bring you to the height of the life I have planned for you.

Space for the new...

My prayer:

I am feeling "off" tonight God. I am not sure how else to explain it. Nothing is actually wrong but I don't feel peace. I don't know what I need or what to ask for but I know something is missing.

All knowing God, I pray for whatever is missing tonight. I may not know what it is but you do. Thank you Jesus.

What God Said Tonight:

A missing piece is one of the only things that has more power in its absence than it does in its presence. You don't notice the pieces when they are all present. It is only when one goes missing that they become apparent and the importance of them in you life becomes apparent.

We have gone through many changes this year. There are many things that you started the year with that you no longer have in your life. Things, people, ideas...it has been a year of cleaning things out.

I have made space for the new in your life. I have cleared out room to accept what I have coming for you. This missing piece you feel tonight is not so much about what is missing but it is being aware of the space I have made in you to receive.

I will fill you my child. I love you.

Jesus' birthday...

My prayer:

It is almost your birthday Jesus! I haven't yet asked you what you want for your birthday this year. Is there anything you want in celebration of your birth? I love you Jesus and my life is yours.

What God Said Tonight:

I want you for Christmas. I want time with you. I want you and I to connect in worship.

There is nothing I love more than one on one time with my children. Give me the gift of time this year. I love you.

Moldy bread...

My prayer:

Awesome God. I am getting a fresh view of my limitations and yet I believe, you are helping me to remember that my limitations do not define my possibilities. You define my possibilities and I am eternally grateful for that. I pray for your continued guidance and help God. Where I am weak, you are strong, thank you Jesus!

What God Said Tonight:

Mold grows on stale bread. When bread is not consumed, when it is not used for what it is intended to be used for within the time it is intended to be used, it grows mold. That mold ruins the bread for its intended purpose but it is not useless. Even in its decay, great uses can be found.

Is the value of bread for eating greater than the value of mold for medication? I suppose that depends on whether you are starving or if you are sick.

I will turn all things for your good. Even that which you see as old and moldy and of no use. Even that, I will use for great purpose.

I love you my child, all of you.
