The History: A couple of years ago, I started journaling my prayers and God's responses to them. I told my friends about this, they were really interested. I told my Pastor about it and he said, how about sharing those on line. When I asked God, He said, my words are for you, but not just for you. And, here we are...I hope He speaks to you in these words.

Everlasting life...

My prayer:

Lifting up my awesome Lord tonight. Praying you get everything you need and want God. Praying that your will is fulfilled. Praying that there is nothing missing and nothing lacking for you. I love you and pray that you get your heart's desire!

What God Said Tonight:

We have died and been resurrected together. As you are in me and I am in you, therefore when I died, you died with me and when I rose, you rose with me.

There is no death that can touch you now. Your life is everlasting with me. We are in an never ending embrace that will outlast the stars.

I love you. I choose you. I surrender my grace to you.

Reminder...

My prayer:

Awesome God. I have spent all day trying to clarify muddy communication between people. If there is anything you want to say, I am here to listen but I am out of words. I have used them all up today.

What God Said Tonight:

I love you. I absolutely love you.

I love you in your success and I love you in your defeat. I love you when you love me and I love you when you don't.

I love you. Don't forget. I will always love you.

Crisis...

My prayer:

I am worn out by life tonight God. So much tragedy with so much inspiring love and support.

That is one thing about a natural disaster whether it is a flood or an earthquake or whatever, while the disaster is horrible, watching people come together to help each other restores my faith in us humans.

Wouldn't it be great if we did not have to wait for a crisis and we just lived our lives that way, grateful to be alive and thinking, how can I help someone else. That would be amazing if we could all find a way to live like that!

God, I pray that the compassion we feel when someone is in tribal be present every day, in crisis and out.

What God Said Tonight:

A crisis today is a memory tomorrow. Do not let the tragedy worry you. It is fleeting and an opportunity for God's grace to come in.

The chance...

My prayer:

I am not in much of a talking mood tonight God but I am always in a listening mood with you. What is on your mind tonight?

What God Said Tonight:

I am not blind to the suffering that is in this world. I don't take it lightly. I don't ignore your pain. The pain of this world, the pain in your life wounds me more deeply than you can know.

I did not intend for the world to be as it is but I am diligently working to see it put right. It is not an easy or simple thing. Getting everyone in place and at the right time. Making sure everyone gets a choice. Seeing that no one is left behind, except of their own choosing. That takes time and effort.

I love you enough to make the world wait for you to decide to come with us. I love each of my children enough to make sure they have that chance.

God with me...

My prayer:

Thank you for a really great day God. Beautiful weather, a great bike ride, good food, a great book and time to enjoy it. Sometimes it really is the simple pleasures that make life worthwhile.

Thank you that you are always with me, in good times and in bad. Thank you for always taking care of me. I LOVE YOU!

What God Said Tonight:

I have walked so many miles in the shoes of those I love. I hurt when you hurt and I laugh when you laugh.

I can't promise you a life without pain, without struggle. That is a byproduct of this world that has been damaged by sin. I can promise that no matter what is after you, no matter what the struggle, no matter how deep the pain, I will be right there with you. I will make a way out for you. I will heal the hurt and I will build you back stronger.

I love you. I love you. I love you.

Life with God...

My prayer:

Thank you for your healing and your protection today God. There was a lot of tragedy and struggle throughout the world today, but that is nothing new. Sometimes I really wish I could go back to Adam and Eve and just tell them "No, DON'T DO IT!"

What would that world have looked like. What would life be like if there were no original sin separating God and man? If we had been obedient to your one rule, what would it have been like?

Maybe I don't want to know. It is harder to miss something if you don't know what it is, maybe.

I love you God and I anxiously await the day when the world is reconciled to you and freed from evil.

What God Said Tonight:

I had a perfect world and a perfect plan that was delayed due to free will and evil. I have not lost the vision of that world. I am more dedicated to it than ever. I sacrificed my son for that vision.

The thing is, now that you know life separated from me, life with me is sweeter. Just  as you can't really miss something you have never known, you can also never really appreciate something that you have always had.

While this was not my original plan, in the end, the eternity we have together will be just that much sweeter for the things we have been through together. Don't waste time thinking of what could have been. Keep your eyes open to what is and what will be.

Your dream...

My prayer:

Some days feel like swimming upstream through quicksand. Today was one of those days. I am grateful to be at the end of it. I am grateful for you and for your presence. I am grateful for the honor of hearing you speak.

What God Said Tonight:

I say it again, I have yet to see my children perish with their dream inside of them.

Life without a dream is empty and dangerous. Live your dream each day. Even if it is just a little bit. Live it and know that I love your dream.

I love you of course but I also love your dream.
